If I open Add/Remove from Control Panel, there are no programs listed
anymore. The list was there yesterday, I just did uninstall Sound Studio
Pro, nothing else. All programs work OK, just that they are not listed
there. How can I restore the list?

Thanks for the help.

All Installed Programs May Not Be Displayed in the Add/Remove Programs
Tool
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q240/3/48.asp

I have fixed several of these recently for others.
The problem will occur in these two situations:

1. The uninstall keyname for an application is greater than 63
characters.
Solution: Rename the keyname.
e.g. this is invalid
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234]

2. The DisplayName for the key is greater than 63 characters.
Solution: Shorten DisplayName
e.g. this is invalid
"DisplayName"="1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234"

If you need a second opinion, export the key to a text file and email
it to me.

*** Note that the invalid entry that can cause this is not necessarily
connected with the ones missing so you must check all entries.

There's nothing listed under that key.
OK, it's not really big deal, but the question is if Internet Explorer is
not listed there and I need to do the 'repair IE', how I'll do that? There
is file 'fix IE.inf', will right-clicking and choosing 'install' do the job?

To repair I.E.

Start => Run => Type MSINFO32 => Press [Enter]
Click on Tools => Select the "Internet Explorer Repair Tool" option

If you have backup copies of the Registry, you can try restoring a
copy of the Registry that you saved before you added Sound Studio Pro.

If you do not have backup copies of the Registry, there is nothing you
can do expect rerun Windows Setup program. There's a chance that Setup
can repair the damage.

But OP is saying NO programs are displayed.  That seems to be a
different error to what your URL describes (which refers to program
names exceeding 63 characters).  The OP had a (valid) list and the
list has "disappeared"

That happens. It can be all or some that don't appear.
In this case, the OP appears to have lost the Registry key entirely
(which also happens)

Nope. :) --> "ALL installed programs ..."

Even if there is only ONE bad entry, NO programs are displayed.

Thank you all for your answers,
I did manage put most of the programs back there manually with TweakUI.
Thanks!
