I have a problem with my home page settings when I open my
IE 5.5. Whenever I open my browser the home page is
directed to something I never entered in the settings. In
addition there seems to be more and more pages in there
that I never entered. Also on start-up of IE 5.5
my "favorites" button is pushed and it shows up on the
left side of my monitor until I push the button again. I
Tried to simply delete the entries but they won't delete.
I also scanned with trend Micro for any viruses and also
used "spybot" both show no problems. I want to clear the
drop down list in my home page settings list and prevent
my "favorites" from coming up everytime I open my
browser.  This is a VERY irrating problem. Can someone
please give me some help on this? Please email me direct
and I will keep looking here for any help in the form of
replys.
Thanks,
Len

Use CWShredder, the removal tool, available here:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/CWShredder.exe

Download, unzip, and run Hijack This from one of these locations:
http://computercops.biz/downloads-cat-14.html
http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads31.html
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/HijackThis.exe
Unzip to a folder other than your Desktop or the Temp folder,  doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished,  the  "Scan"  button will change into a "Save Log"  button.
Press that,  save the log somewhere you can find it (Desktop, My Documents, or similar).
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.

Copy the log files and paste them into a new post at one of these forums:

The folks there will tell you what to remove.
