I've just installed w95 osr2 on an old notebook
Which updates should I install before connecting to the internet?
1) The critical updates displayed at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/Default.asp are for the osr2
version too?
2) If the answer is yes, after installing those patches will I be protected
from the latest bugs like the blaster virus?
Thank you in advance

Windows 95 is not affected by the blaster worm (only the NT systems). If
browsing will not be scrutinized, running antivirus software once a week is
mandatory.
ps I have learned that very few of the Win95 updates are really necessary.
Microsoft does have a lot of information that may be hard to read but if you
read slowly and carefully you can discern if your PC needs a particular
update or not.
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/Static_w95/V31site/default.htm will take
you to the site and then click on "product updates" if it is your first
visit with this PC, remember you will need to let a small file be installed
on you machine first! I run Win95 and if someone gave me a new PC I would
reformat and install Win95!
