I got an old laptop from a friend with 95 on it. It only
has a floppy, no CD-ROM. When I try to install any
program, an error message pops up telling me that some
kind of *.DLL file is missing. I guess these are system
files, and I dont have the 95 startup disk to fix it. Is
there any way to get this problem solved?????

Check the hard drive for a folder named c:\windows\options\cabs and
see if there are a number of files with whose names are Win95_nn.cab
where nn is a 2 digit number.

If so then these are the source files copied from the Windows 95 CD
and you can extract replacements for missing files from these.   Use
Start - Run - SFC and choose the option to "extract a file" and then
fill in the blanks as requested.

Good luck
