when i put in my boot disk to reformat my win 95 it reads the floppy and comes up to the c prompt. what do i enter to get it to read the cd drive with the win 95 disk in it? i tried, run, setup, format, and none worked. i tried changing the drive to D: but it changes it and then changes back immediately. any ideas? thank you

Windows 95 bootdisks do not ordinarily include cd-rom drivers.
The easiest way to create such a floppy is to use one of the
utilities on www.bootdisk.com to make a bootdisk. Unless you
have a proprietary controller or cd-rom drive this will give a
boot floppy that will make the cd-rom drive drive r:
P.S., If you are going to the c: prompt then your computer is not
booting from the floppy drive. You will need to make a change in
your BIOS settings to boot from a floppy.

Kay,
I have a similar problem, I keep getting message that i
am using an incorrect system disk, there are no disks (cd
or floppy in the drives, maybe it was shut off with on in
it, but now I ve tried to reboot using a cd and working
with setup, but to no avail. can you help me?
