I want to uninstall Windows 95 so that I can install a
newer version. When I attempt to uninstall, I get the
message "can not find install.exe." Can anyone help me
uninstall the Windows 95 platform.
Thank you-

Windows is not a program like Word or Excel; Windows is the operating
system. Without an operating system, a computer cannot operate.
Therefore one cannot merely uninstall Windows. One has to replace
Windows with another operating system . . . by upgrading Windows.
You say you want to install another operating system. This new system
should come with instructions for how to replace Windows.

You don't need to uninstall Windows in order to upgrade to a newer
version. If your install disk is telling you that it won't upgrade
your system, then you probably have an OEM version. . These are
intended for new computers, and will not upgrade an existing system.
See this page for a way to use it anyway:
