I think that windows 95 is done. Since Msoft no longer
provides support, it seems that Win 95 has gone by the way
side. My computer went down and was unable to access the
www. I think it has to do with the fact that Msoft will
no longer upgrade the I.E. for 95 users.......Time to get
a new computer anyway

You do not have to use IE to access the www. There are a number of other web
browsers available that work just fine with W95.

win95 can use up to IE5.5 so your win95 machine should be good for a few
more years...
if you want a pretty simple but usable browser just go to www.offbyone.com
you can download it then copy it to a single floppy
then transfer it to your machine with the corrupt browser

Win95 can use IE5.5 SP2, which can be had at Look here:
http://browsers.evolt.org/?ie/32bit
And it can use newer browsers. The latest versions of Netscape
(http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/default.jsp), Mozilla
(http://www.mozilla.org/) and Mozilla Firefox
(http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/) all work. (Firefox's
requirements page says it needs Win98, but posters say that it runs
fine on Win95). There are other things Win95 has trouble with, like
huge disks and USB, but you can get an up-to-date browser.
