Hi Jeff and Glen.
Thank you both for the help.
OK, I can access the printer connected to the 2000 machine now through the
network.
Yee-Ha!! Cool.
I did not want to delete the PWL file on the 95 machine in case everything
went wrong so I simply renamed it. It was Par.pwl so I renamed it to
OldPar.xxx and then restarted the machine. The next time it booted up it
first gave me the change password screen on top of the User Name/Password
one. I hit cancel on the first one and then entered the same User Name and
Password as the 2000 machine. It let me in and then I could see the 2000
machine over the network.
Everything works OK so far today, but I'm hoping for just a bit more help if
I may. I tested it one more time by restarting the machine. It again gave me
the change password screen first on top of the User Name/Password screen. I
logged in and everything is fine, but I really just want to automate this.
As mentioned before we used to not log into the 95 machine at all. I'm
guessing this because there was no password?? Or perhaps the seller set it
up that way for us to log on with a user called Par.
What I'd really like to have happen is if the people here ever have to
restart the cash register it automatically logs them in with the correct
User Name/Password combination with no intervention. We will most likely not
have a keyboard hooked up to the machine (it's a touch screen system) and
trying to do all of this in the middle of a lunch/dinner rush would be a
pain! So is there some setting I can put in the Control Panel of the 95
machine or somewhere to do this? I've used the Tweak utility before in the
past, would this help?
I'll be here tomorrow as well so I can play with this in the morning before
we open.
Thanks again for the help,
Jeff
