I am using Win95 and IE5.5 SP2. When I try to delete 'Temp IE files'
System freezes and have to restart. The same happens when I go
through Control Panel / Inter. Options..

I get 'Red X' message with this dump:

I can't even get a "Properties" from the Temp Files in Explorer; same .
System freezes and I have to restart.

Can someone please help. There doesn't seem to be any support for
Win95/IE5.5

Follow the procedure in this article..."Method 1" should do it.
You may have to use Method 1 from a restart in MS-DOS Mode, rather than from the DOS Prompt within Windows that the article suggests.

Click Start> Programs> MS-DOS Prompt.
Type deltree tempor~1, and then press ENTER.
When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, press Y, and then press ENTER.
Type EXIT, and then press ENTER.
Click the Internet Explorer icon and the necessary folders will be re-built upon starting.

If no joy, click Start> Shutdown> Restart in MS-DOS Mode.
Type deltree tempor~1, and then press ENTER.
When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, press Y, and then press ENTER.
Type EXIT, and then press ENTER, to restart Windows.

If the issue continues to occur, proceed to the next method.

If your Temporary Internet Files folder is in a different location than as a sub-folder of the Windows folder, you will have to change the path accordingly.
