My defrag will not work because of an error that says to run scandisk
first.
I do but I still get the same error.
So I'd like to run a thorough scandisk at the command prompt.
Does anyone know the command for that.
Also need to know the command for defrag.
Thank you.

Set the directory to C:\Windows\Command
Try:
Scandisk C: /surface
Use the help in DOS if you need more.

Get back to Windows before running defrag.
See if defrag runs correctly after that.
