I have win95 on cd.
alright, i don't have a boot disk and i've tried
bootdisk.com and made one, that doesn't seem to work.
I've been booting my computer up using a win98 cd, which
installs drivers for the cdrom, then from there i can
choose to setup win98 and or start computer with cdrom
support. I've done boths ways, so i've tried to install
win98. I get the window saying preparing to install, get
to 100% and then i tries to open up another window, All i
get is a black box and it freezes. so i tried win95 with
the cdrom support. i direct the computer to cdrom and
setup. itloads up, i have to say yes for the license
thing, then preparing to install and 100% and then
sometimes i get a black box or nothing and all frozen.
I've swapped out the video card on someones's suggestion,
and no good. I'v pulled out all non essential cards and so
forth such as the modem. Help.

I've also swapped almost everything to a different
computer, thinking mayber proccesor(no replacement) or
motherboard. I still does the same thing.

Go into the BIOS setup and make sure that "Boot virus protection"
is disabled.

not sure if this will help , but its something to try.
first format your hard drive , from a dos prompt
type "format c:/s this will format the computer and
install the system files. then from another computer , go
to smartdisk.com and dowload the proper bootdisk info to a
floppy disk. look at the "ultimate bootdisk" info , it
tells you what to do then try to install windows , hope
this helps yours truly ntranger
