I have a Packard Bell using windows 95.. and when i turn
the computer on a screen demanding me to "enter password"
pops up. it has 7 charactors possible... i no longer
remember the password. the computer was in storage for 3
years. I believe the password was set in the set up screen
of the BIOS. not really familiar with how it all works.
but the password is a must have... it says f1 to continue.
and f2 for enter set up . both require the password. after
3 wrong guesses.. it re boots and goes to the same spot..
the pop up is after it gives the system specs.. and says
mouse initiated.. then still all the info on the screen
then ya.... PLEASE HELP!!! THANKS!

yes...that sounds like a bios password allright

just open the case and remove the cmos battery

(leave it out for quite a long time...at least 15 minutes)

when you put it back...the bios should go back to the factory default
(you might have to reset a few parameters such at the date...etc.

For best results. unplug any and all energy sources, including power cord
and battery, and short out both battery terminals for only a few seconds.
Finally, reattach battery, apply power and reconfigure CMOS BIOS Setup.

most motherboards have jumper to clear the cmos settings...you will need to
find the specs on your board tho
