USB disk driver not found

I have a Maxtor ( MAXTOR 2FO40J0 ) USB disk drive which is
plug n play compatible.When i connect it to the USB
port,the system recognizes it but is not able to find the
driver for it (not even from the Microsoft website).Please
help.

Actually, this is an ide drive.
