First off, I have a multi-boot system Win98 on C: partition, Win2000 on D:
and WinXP on E:
I've recently posted this before...but this time it's different, well...it's
actually the same problem that I "fixed" (using SYS C: from the start-up
disk)...but created a different one (I lost my OS Boot Menu
afterwards)...now, after fixing that one(using bootcfg / rebuild from a
WinXP Recovery Console)...I'm back to Not being able to launch my Windows 98
OS again...Invalid System Disk
Now, I didn't see any partition conflicts before (they're all on Fat32) and
it worked fine for a long time until recently...
So my question is: How do I "safely" restore my Windows 98 OS without
removing or reinstalling my other OSes..and at the same time without losing
my OS Boot Menu???
My boot.ini on C: looks like this btw:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(4)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(4)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows"

I recommend you get a third party boot manager and be rid of these
problems. I use:
BootIt Next Generation is available from:
http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/ and it does partitioning, makes a
compressed image, does many other partitioning chores and is a boot
manager. It is not quite as easy to use as Partition Magic but it is
less than half the cost and has more features. Unlike the crippled
PMagic demo, BING is a *full function* demo you can try for free for 30
days. The web site has a lot of support articles.
