I recently purchased a 4 port USB hub [cause my system only
has two and they are so close togeather that I can't use
both of them at the same time. :(  ]

The system recognizes the hub, asks me to put my win 98 CD
in then comes back and tells me it can't find the file
usb.cat,
any where on the system of on the CD.

I haven't found anywhere to download this file, either.
Using the start/controlpanel/hardware shows that the
device is there, but it's non-functional because there's no
driver.  which makes sense, of course.

Does any one know where I can get the usb.cat file?
please send me email, if you have an answer.

Thanks

I don't do email support and you really should not ask for it.  When a
response is posted in the newsgroup, a lot of people are going to review
it and make sure that the answer is correct or at least that it will not
do any harm to your PC.  When you get an email, no one can review it to
ensure it has good information.  Further, when you use your real email
address on a post, you will end up getting flooded with virus email and
spam.

This is a standard W98 file.  When the system says it can't find it,
click the browse button and go to the Catalog3.cab File on your W98 CD.
