    I have just purchased an Acomdata 80 GB ( FireWire
& Hi Speed USB 2.0 ) (7200 RPM ) ( Model # 294557 )
External Hard Drive.

    So far I have been unable to get it to work, on my
Window's 98 SE, Celeron 1700 processor computer, with 2.0
USB, & 256 MB memory.  With two Internal Hard Drives, (
C:) 20 GB & ( D:) 30 GB.  And, two disc drives installed,
( E: ) CD-R and ( F: ) CD-RW.

    In trying to install the External Drive, I have
gotten as far as Installing the Driver from the provided
CD, ( For USB 1.0/2.0 Hardware Installation for Window's
98SE: ); but before I could format the new drive, I was
supposed to find it in the Control Panel.

    I could find no new Drive Letter, in either "My
Computer", or "Windows Explorer", and so am unable to
proceed further.

    ( Though, when this new External Drive is switched
on, an icon does show up in both the Systems Tray, ( as a
way of turning the drive off for shutdown ); and also by
name of hardware in the System Properties, Device Manager;
under Disk drives.  Where it shows its Device Status ( in
Properties / General ) to be, "Working Properly".  But,
the Setting tab shows no, "Current drive letter
assignment:" indicated.)

    On Tech Advice, I have now placed a check by
Removable, and entered the letter N, in Reserved Drive
Letters; ( both Start & End ), selected OK, and re-
booted.  But, a Drive letter for the External Drive is
still not shown.

Please advise;

Forgot to mention, you'll need to re-boot after doing so.
