Serial Mouse

This should be so simple, but I can't get it to work. I am
trying to use a PS/2 mouse with a serial adaptor in a
serial port. My windows 98 machine is not recognizing it.
After the Windows 98 log-on screen comes up I get this
message. "Windows did not detect a mouse attached to the
computer. You can safely attach a serial mouse now." This
is a second machine for kids games, so didn't want to put
a lot money in it.

Not all PS/2 mice have that capability.

unless the mouse you have was specifically designed to be used with an
adaptor (most aren't) it won;t work.
just get a serial mouse
