I need some advice.

About, oh two years ago, I bought a cd-rw drive, and when
I installed it, I just replaced the computers normal cd
drive. However, now I want to run them in tandem, so I
tried to get them both in and running, the problem is,
that my computer won't recognize the second drive. I have
one as slave and one as master, I've got a list of things
to try here, such as changing the master <--> slave
setting on each of my secondary ide's. I also have been
told that I should try and boot up with the start disk
when I install the new hardware like this. I'm going to
keep playing with it today, but if anyone has any
suggestions, I would love to hear them.

 Thanks a lot.

I assume you have your Optical Drives on IDE channel 2.In
this case your CD/RW will master and CD Rom will be slave,
condidering you have been usig the CD/RW as the primary
optical drive.
Make sure your IDE cable straps are on Pin I (coloured
stripe) in the Mainboard and CD Rom drive.
Make sure all power and IDE cables are well and truly
seated.
Check your BIOS and see if your settings are on AUTO
detect.
