very slow boot since adding 2nd hard drive

i have a pIII-450 running w98. original hard rive is 13gb.
i added a 40gb hard drive, and now it takes about 4-5
minutes to boot, instead of the usual 1-2 minutes.

any idead or suggestions??

If the second HD is on the same IDE, move it to one of it's own (if you have
a spare one available).

Remove any unnecessary items from startup options
