Is it possible for me to create a boot disc on my PC
running win98se for a computer running win98.

Hi John,

Insert the Win98 CD into a Windows machine with a working CD drive, and on
it run, from  the Win98 CD - tools\mtsutil\fat32ebd\fat32ebd.exe.
This will make a bootable startup floppy with generic CD support to
use with the drive on your machine to access the CD and Setup windows.

No, a boot disk created in this fashion will not erase files
just by booting from it.
