I attempted to compress some files on my hard drive using
Ultimate Zip.  While compressing, the drive ran out of
space and the program subsequently crashed.  There is now
a 2+ gig chunk of my drive eaten up with no way to clear
it out.  I've tried scandisk and defrag to no avail.
Anyone have any thoughts?

How do you know that this chunk is eaten up? Can you see a file that you
can't delete, or are you simply going by how much free space you think there
ought to be? Have you emptied the recycle bin, or checked the temp folder?

Thanks for your reply, Jeff.  I was looking in the wrong
temp folder.  Found the right one and everything is cool
now.  :)

So much for Ultimate ZIP !

DOes scandisk find any errors?

Defrag will not free up space.

Scandisk and Defrag are totally useless stuff (stinks!!),
these are only for general level maintenance. Try using
norton system utilities or the the cool utilitie of Nuts-n-
Bolts.
