I have recently downloaded 19 updates from the windows
updates and have been unable to get my CD drive to
function since.  When I load any cd the hour glass
replaces my pointer and the computer freezes.  I have to
shut down the computer before I can resume any other
function.  Any ideas on what I can/should do.

Thanks for your consideration.

Click on start - Run and then type SFC
Start the scanning and click. and restart the system.
During this whole process a corrupt file will be created
and we need to delete this specific file to get the system
up and running. this file is called Win386.SWP this file
is available on c:\windows. Delete this file if not
possible then do it from the command prompt.
