With Win98 CD installed, get option for booting.
Select "Boot from hard drive"
Message on screen is "NLDR missing". Any clues as to what
that means. Hard drive is accessable from DOS when booting
from Win98 boot floppy.

if you had any version of NT installed on the machine (but not on an NTFS
partition) and you tried to install win98 but did not write to the
bootsector
you could get that message

if win98 is not bootable...
try booting with your win98 floppy
then issue the command sys C:
