I'm getting an error message when I try to access my cd-
rom drive. It says "D:\ is not accessible The device is
not ready". Can anyone give a hint as to what I need to
do to correct the problem? I'd appreciate any help anyone
can give me.
Thanks in advance.

Check in control panel -system -device manger and see if you have a yellow !
in front of the IDE Controller
(EXpand it by clicking the plus in front)
If this is the case then Try this article

Try cleaning the drive with a standard audio CD player cleaning disc. If
that fails, the drive may be faulty and in need of replacement.
