Hi, I recently did a quick restore on my computer and
ever since it has not been recognizing my floppy disk
controller, or my PCI IDE controller, they are all listed
in my device manager with a yellow ! The computer used
to freze when I would try to start it, it would just sit
at the starting windows 98 screen and the only way to
stop that from happening was to go into msconfig select
advanced and check the box that says force The box that
says compatibility mode disk access in the system
configuration. I've tried everything that I've found
anywhere on these websites and nothing seems to be
working. I was told to try to remove them on safe mode
and use the startup disk to install drivers but I can't
figure out how to do that, when I use the startup disk
all I get is the A:/ prompt and don't know where to go
from there. I've been working for days and can't seem to
fix this. I really need my computer for my finals.
PLEASE HELP!!!!! Thanks.

Watch your boot screen and once the memory count is done, start clicking
your Ctrl key rapidly and select safe mode. When booted, go to control
panel, system, device manager and remove anything with a yellow ! If there
is more than one instance of a device, remove all instances of it. Reboot
and let windows redetect the devices
