I can't seem to start win98 back up. When I try to get
into it, it brings me to invalid system disk. It says

cd rom. Then it takes me to a:
When I change the dir to c:
what should I put there in order to bring up win 98?
Please help!
You cannot start W98 with a start up floppy. When you start to boot, what
happens on the screen? At what point do you get the error message and what
is the exact text of the message? One of the things you can do is to
identify the brand of hard drive you have, go to the maker's web site,
download the diagnostic software which runs from a floppy and check the
health of your drive.

then it comes up with the message of
"invalid system disk"
replace the disk and then press any key.
That's when I put my startup disk in and hit enter. Then
it takes me to some choices for startup w/cd or w/o cd. I
choose the 2nd choice for w/o cd. That's when it takes me
to a:
How can I tell what kind of hard drive I have?

You will probably have to open the computer case and look at the hard drive.
I think that is your next step--download the diagnostic software and check
out your drive.
