Hi, I recently did a quick restore on my computer and ever
since it has not been recognizing my floppy disk
controller, or my PCI IDE controller, they are all listed
in my device manager with a yellow !  The box that says
disable 32-bit protected mode drivers is checked which may
lead to part of the problem because if it's not, the
computer can't start in anything but safe mode, and from
there I can't install or uninstall anything.  I've been
working for days and can't seem to fix this.  PLEASE
HELP!!!!!
Thanks

Hi,

Try to remove the drives and controllers (and any duplicates)
in question from Device Manager in Safe Mode.

If you boot with a startup disk, are the drives accessible?

I do not have a startup disk only a quick restore.  I can
remove them just fine from safe mode and install them just
fine in normal mode.  However when I restart the computer
it wont start again in normal mode, I have to check the
force compatibility mode disk access in the system
configuration or it wont start in normal mode.  When I
start it in normal they all again have the yellow ! by
them again.
