help my daughter erased the harddrive on my laptop, the
floppy drive and cd drive are quick change, I have 98 on
cd but when I boot up with the cd drive in, I get an
error message, is there anyway I can get my copy of 98
put onto floppies so I can reload windows to my laptop??

Boot up from the floppy disk, type "SYS c:" without the quotes and including
the space at the Dos prompt to transfer system files to the hard disk, then
you can boot from the hard disk, not boot to windows, boot to dos, enough to
install from the cd.
Laptops are absolute pigs about display drivers and other non-standard
hardware, search the manufacturer's site for drivers if you arent using the cd
originally provided with the laptop to re-install
