My Windows 98se PC has suddendly started going into the
BOIS setup screen when booting. All the info is there
such as time and disks etc. When I exit and save the
cycle is repeated. What could be wrong??

Long shot, but maybe busted keyboard.  BIOS screen is
usually initiated by button press (delete or f3 or
something) try unpluggin keyboard and booting. you'll get
a keyboard error but if it skips bios...  short of that,
maybe a motherboard jumper. but if you haven't opened your
pc recently it cant be that. possibly bad cmos battery,
check your clock to see if its keeping accurate time.

without knowing more thats all i can say .. good luck!

If your PC is displaying bios defaults during it normal bios routine.  If
the date and time are inaccurate, this is normal if the cmos battery is
depleted.
Windows operating system has nothing to do with this.
