Microsoft says I have to get a recovery CD from HP since
my windows 98 came from there but HP no longer has
recovery CD's for 98.
I let one of my husband's idiot friends do some work on my
computer and now I don't have backup ability and I'm
having problems with my computer so need to back up my
files.
I never had a recovery cd since I bought my computer
second hand. Anyone have any clue what I can do now?

You can try to find a used copy on EBay; however, the chances are slim. If
you get non-HP version of W98, you will have to find the drivers you need.

IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP, THEY REINSTALLED IT FOR ME AND GAVE
ME THE DISK, PLUS GAVE MY SOME FREE MEMORY, OF COURSE IT
COST ME, BUT AT LEAST I HAD A DISK
