Corrupt  windows operating system

Due to windows operating system being corrupt, chatted
with a MSN tech.  Recommended uninstalling windows from my
disk & then reinstalling.  Forgot to ask...using Win 98
now.  Should I uninstall & reinstall Win 95 with my disk &
then uninstall/reinstall UPGRADE Win 98 disk?  I'm trying
to say it was original '95 & then got a "98 upgrade.

Any help appreciated.

No need to install W95.  Once your data is backed up and you are ready to
install the system to a formatted partition, install the W98 upgrade disk
and during installation, it will ask to see the W95 CD.  After the
compliance check, replace the W98 CD and installation will continue.  For
