error 2116

a drive "U" on C drive became no longer a shared network
drive, when I attempt to make it a shared drive again I
receive an error message "error 2116"

What might be happening? What do I do to "reshare the
drive as the main drice C is still a shared drive?

You can't share a SUBST directory. Share the original folder instead. See:
