Vmm32 is built during the installation of W98 so I suggest you install W98
over the top of the existing system. Any updates will probably have to be
reinstalled after the installation is complete. For information on
installing W98, go to: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour/html/w98_restore.html
Given that the PC is pretty old, you also might want to check the health of
the hard drive. Determine the brand, go to the maker's web site, download
their diagnostic software which runs from a floppy disk and check the drive.

Get Win DLG: http://support.wdc.com/download/index.asp#windlg
Get any printed info off of the motherboard itself and then do a search on
it using the www.google.com search engine.

Go into the BIOS setup and see if the computer can be
configured to boot from the CD drive. If not, you will
have to start it with a boot floppy and run "setup.exe"
from the Win98 directory of the Windows 98 CD.
