I tried to Install Norton Anti Virus 2004 Professional. My
system crashed. I was able to uninstall the bungled
installation but since then I have a problem.
MY CD ROM causes my PC to crash, sometimes even without a
CD in the place when I close the drive the PC crashes, at
other times it won't crash (but will if I load a CD). I
have got it working on a couple of occassions with the CD
in place but it soon crashes it I try to install NAV 2004.
So now I am without protection (I uninstalled NAV2003 to
install NAV2004). Any suggestions how to get this working
again - The system on Control panel seems OK. Thanks.

Your machine seems to like Norton products as much as I do.  Either ask
Symantec for help or return NAV and get one of these products:

 AVG, free AV program:  http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php

ETrust, reasonably priced AV program that I use:

EZ Armor Security Suite, One year free trial :
