Hello all. Having a problem with my cd-rom hanging up.
After inseting a disc the pointer turns int an hour glass
and just hangs up. I cannot eject the disc, it just spins.
I have to reset the computer and eject the disc upon
startup. The cd burner I recently installed works fine.
This problem occured  after I installed the burner. I am
using Roxio burning software. I have checked device
manager and have no conflicts. Any insight would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Check to see that the burner recently installed and the cdrom are not BOTH
installed as master(or both as slave) on the same cable, either set one to
master and one to slave, or both to cable select, by positioning the jumpers
on the pins at the rear of the drives, somewhere next to the data cables.
jumpers are not standard but are usually well labelled (c s m) or something
similar WD drives have pin patterns for the jumpers printed on the cases
