secondary ide controller

i am having trouble running my disks onto my pc
when i try to install a new software disk i can hear it
running but it does not come up on screen i have looked
into the devise manager and it says all the drivers are
not installed can anyone help thanks

I assume that the driver comment is on the secondary ide controller, right?
If so, boot into safe mode and remove anything that is showing a problem.
Reboot and let windows redetect it.  Have your W98 CD handy in case it is
needed.
