My hard disk is partitioned. I keep on running out of
space on Drive C, but have masses of space on D. I have
all my data on Drive D, and install applications there
whenever I am offered the option to do so. Can I just
move remaining applications from C to D, or must I
uninstall and reinstall them?

Uninstall and reinstall will almost always be necessary.

Hi DSK,
As Richard is one of the resident experts in this forum, do as he advises.
The reason you can't *simply* move them from one partition to another is
because there will be way to many Registry entries referencing your C drive
from the first install that would be leftover. Major problemos.
Un-installing and re-installing should help alleviate that problem.

None that I know of, it should be a straightforward process.

Another option is to get a partitioning program and move some of the free
space from D: to C: Here is what I use:
BootIt Next Generation is available from: http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/
and it does partitioning, makes a compressed image, does many other
partitioning chores and is a boot manager. It is not quite as easy to use
as Partition Magic but it is half the cost and has more features. Unlike
the crippled PMagic demo, BING is a *full function* demo you can try for
FREE for 30 days. The web site has a lot of support articles.
