Window 98SE Boot Error

On Bootup my system never boots, but displays the error
" Can Locate MPR.exe", what does this mean?

Are you sure that the message isn't "Can't locate MPREXE"?  MPREXE.exe is
the multi-protocol router. It intercepts network data and determines where
the data should be routed to. You could use SFC to extract the file from the
installation CD and copy it to \Windows\System.  If this doesn't work you
could remove your network protocols and re-install them. Often, errors in
MPREXE are caused by a corrupted password list (PWL) file.
