a drive format

Trying to copy a program to floppy.Right clicked on
program icon and selected copy to A drive.Response,drive
not formatted.I selected format drive and this message
appears.Can not format drive.Quit any disk utilities and
other programs using this drive.Make sure no window is
displaying content of the drive.I never used A drive
before.

Another thing, I recall a W95 problem that was similar.  You could not
left click on A: drive and then right click and select format.  You had
to right click it initially and select format.  However, I think Glen is
right about the disk.
