I am running win 98/2nd edition. It seems to me I used to be able to right
click on my desktop or in a folder and have an option to create a new folder.
Now it's gone! I can't create any new folders. What have I done? How can I
undo it? I searched, but I only found one related post, and it was a
different situation. I've also tried the  Window's "help" but to no avail.
Help!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jesse,

New Command Missing in Windows Explorer
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q180257/

If you are not comfortable editing the registry go to the site below
and download "Restore new command" then run the script.

Bert,

I am having the same issue, when I follow the directions you reference in MS
180257 and try to navigate to the registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\New\    I
do not have the \Background\   or    \New\ subdirectories in that key.  I
hope I have made myself clear, I am quickly approaching my limit of technical
capability.

Any insight you can add would be greatly appreciated.

Mark

Running the registry file "Restore new command" as I suggested will
correct the registry entry.

Bert, I feel like such a knuckle head. I searched to the best of my ability
and did not find the article you pointed out. I could not edit my registry,
but the link for the download worked perfect. I work for a large GM dealer
and automobiles are my area of expertise. If ever I can help you, please let
me know. I owe you huge!!!!!!
