Hello,

I have installed a second HDD with 120 GB on my PC. HDD is
recognized in BIOS and it was possible to partition it with FDISK
(up-dated version) in the DOS-window .

After re-boot I got follwing message (tranlated from German)

While initializing the device SHELL:
The required file KRNL386.exe could not be found or loaded.

But the file is defenetly available.

When I boot the PC in the save modus I have no problems. I was able to
format the HDD and I could write and read.

Partitioning with Partition Magic 5 wasn't successful either.

Booting with the first HDD only (disconnect second HDD or erase
Partition of second HDD) runs without problems.

In the FAQ's or ohter areas I couldn't find a solution..

HDD seems to be o.k. Analyse tool of the supplier showed everything o.k.
Complete erase of the HDD with the tool didn't help.

Change of cable didn't help.

Any idea to solve the problem ?

Thanks

PC data:

- Motherboard MSI 6339 (850Pro)
- HHD 1  IBM 40 GB
- HDD 2 Samsung 120 GB (SP1203N)
- Windows 98SE

Best Regards
Volker
