Windows 98 won't open when i turn on the laptop. a screen
comes up and says 'Ready for EC\KBC update. Place the
EC\KBC updtate diskette in the drive, and press any key
when ready to proceed'. another problem is, I dont have
any of the original discs, just the windows 98 second
edition upgrade and startup disks. Please Help!

Hi,

This error indicates a faulty key or keyboard.
Is this by chance a notebook? If not try another
keyboard.
