Well, Capt, have him to check his display settings. (right click the
display icon in the systray by the clock.) Change it to 16 bit or 32
bit, whichever works. I'm no expert, but hey, that's what I'd do.

There is
256 Color
High Color (16 bit)
True Color (24 bit)
and NOT what you have stated! Present setting is at High Color (16 bit)!
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

click the advanced button on the settings tab and set the adaptor refresh
rate to 'default' or 'optimal' the scanning rate settings may be beyond what
the monitor can display, check also that the displayed adaptor name is the
one fitted
