I don't know that it IS damaged, didn't say it was, lol.
Could be corrupted. Could be moved. Could have a
conflict, who knows? I know only that it is apparently
behind my system crashes, as noted in the win. logs.
The reason I'm asking for help is that I've seen these
symptoms before on my old computer. I kept getting Invalid
Page Fault messages with the Kernel32, which turned into
fatal exceptions caused by the Kernel32, which turned into
lockups and full crashes.
A friend copied the Kernel32 file to my computer, and the
problem stopped. Thus far, I've only gotten the Page
Faults. No big deal. But I'd rather not wait until it
escalates.
I see on Windows Help a suggestion to adjust my hardware
acceleration to NONE. I'll try that. But if the file
continues to crash my system, it's getting replaced! And
it sure would be nice to know HOW to do that properly
rather than flying by the seat of my pants.
Thanks.

You should ask your friend who supplied the file how to install it, as it is
not usual practice to replace this file using the procedure you have
described.
