One of the diskdrives on my sytem which is running
Win98SE, has the primary logical partition of 2gb , ie.
my "C:" drive that is formatted as FAT16.  This is where
my OS resides. The extended partition associated with this
drive has been allocated to a logical drive of the
remaining space and formatted as FAT32.

Can I  reformat the "C:" drive, i.e. the 2gb logical unit,
to make it FAT32 without losing any data?

I intend to use Partition Magic which should allow me to
resize the c:drive using the unused space of the extended
partition (logical drive).

win98 has the ability to convert the drive to fat32...
you can use that or partition magic

if you format your drive you will loose all data and do nothing to convert
it...

As I have been discussing this with the MVP's for a few
weeks, this is what I have learned from them: You must
convert to FAT32 to change the size of the partition. W98
has the conversion as part of System Tools and you won't
lose any data. If you then use Partition Magic, you should
be able to resize without having to move or lose data
either.
