Thank you to all who helped this get accomplished: Jeff
Richards, Tim Slattery, Philo and Zelep.

I was able to convert the 3 logical 2Gb drives by
scanning, defragging and converting each one separately. I
think what changed was that when I defragged ahead of the
conversion, I UN-checked the box that tells it to arrange
the files so that the programs run faster. When I started
the coversion that comes with W98, it went right to a blue
screen with a checklist and moved through the conversion
in about a half-hour for each.

I converted them all, even though I didn't have to as
Philo said because I removed a couple of partitions using
Fdisk after restarting in the MS-DOS mode (using the
restart from Windows). I couldn't find any instructions on
how to use Fdisk, so I went on faith and plunged in. Once
you choose the large drive support, it asks you questions
and you can exit without any damage if you don't feel
comfortable.

The Freeware from www.zelep.com was Partition Resizer (DOS
based), and by following his instructions (although a
little confusing) once I started it was fairly simple and
straight-forward to resize and move partitions. The
longest amount of time was spent waiting for the Resizer
to move and copy clusters, etc. It took about a half hour
to 45 min. to grow my C drive from 2 Gb to 3 Gb. It will
even scan for you if you want.

Again, thanks to all for patiently replying to all the
posts.
