Is it true that Windows 98 only recognizes up to 128
memeory? I just replaced my 256 stick and everyting runs
nice and snappy. Is 128 of memory being wasted?
Appreciate any help

No...win98 can use up to about 1.5 gigs of memory
but requires a little tweaking over 512megs
The are some older machines however that can only use 128 megs of memory
but that has nothing to do with windows
if you look in the control panel and it shows 256megs...then that;s what you
have

Windows is designed to use up to 2Gb or RAM, however the actual limit
appears to be 1.5Gb, some machines can't handle more than 1Gb, and above
512Mb some slight tweaking is required.
Older motherboards may impose a limit much less than these figures.
Start / Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Monitor includes a
measure of unused physical memory, which should indicate that Windows is
using all your 256Mb.

Hi,
I think you may confusing RAM and HardDisk, there is a
128 "Gig" limit (not meg) for a HardDrive in win 98.
