i get a not enough memory when i try to defrag or scan disk need help i need to do this soon, i just got a new hard drive maybe this could be the problem i just don't know enough about computers to know what to do or what to look for HELP If it says not enough memory i would sugest it is a ram thing and not a hard drive thing. How much ram do you have? Try pressing ctrl+alt+del to get the task manager up. One by one "end task" everything in the list other than "Explorer" and then try it again. The error you are seeing is probably caused by non-standard partitioning for the new hard drive. Open a DOS windows and do CHKDSK. Note the total number of allocation units on disk and respond here with the figure.
