Upgrade to NT/2000/XP and use NTFS

Instead of storing the files on the local machine, store them on a network
machine that uses a file system that supports large file sizes, such as W2K.

Note that your applications that use these large files must be able to cope
with the increased file size, or you must restrict access to that part of
the file that they can handle.

Nope. It's an ironclad limit in the file system. FAT32 simply can't
handle a file larger than 4GB, you cannot get around it.

If you upgrade to XP, you can use the NTFS file system. File size is
practically unlimited there (There is a limit, but its astronomical).

The largest file that the FAT32 file system can handle is 4GB. There
is absolutely nothing you can do about that. If you need to use larger
files, you'll have to use an operating system that can use NTFS (or a
Unix system).
