Hey everyone,
I have an external 40GB USB Hard Drive formatted to NTFS
allready. I need to reformat it fat32, inorder to attach
it to an old Win98 workstation to transfer some folders
and files, but it does'nt read the NTFS formatted HDD .
How can I format this external Hard Drive to Fat32? Any
suggestions would be appreiciated. Many thanks.

Hi Joe,
Here's a utility that will allow Win98 it view and use an NTFS
partition.

Partition type is set by the partitioning procedure, not by formatting. You
can try to use FDISK from within Windows to delete the existing NTFS
partitioning and create new partitioning. Did the drive come with a utility
from the manufacturer for partitioning? If so, use that in preference to
FDISK. Once the proper partition is created you can format the drive.
